February 24th, marked our kick off of NATIVE LENS TV and Preventions Theatre... As our roots began with the Swinomish Indian Tribe and as we continue to run successful after school programming there five days per week, it was a perfect choice to produce our first episode of NATIVE LENS TV with the youth of that community.  The theme was Native Hip Hop in Indian Country. This 30-minute segment showcases the talents of Culture Shock Camp's Brian Frejo, KSVR's DJ Def Kawn and DJ Note, on the street interviews and a special comedic drama called STAREDOWN, plus much more.  NATIVE LENS TV will be aired on local Swin 96, KANU TV in Marysville and on SCAN Cable Station in Seattle, WA.  Stay tuned for more news and listings!

Native Lens, in partnership with the Puyallup Tribe, recently finished a series of filmmaking workshops for tribal youth in and around the Puyallup reservation. Films produced over the last six months cover topics such as leadership, cultural identity, making healthy decisions, addiction, bullying, diabetes and the Canoe Journey 2008. Finished films will play in the waiting room at Puyallup’s Kwawachee Counseling Center and be submitted to film festivals. More
